Hey there! We’re glad you want to learn more about the new format which will be used in this year’s PEC and PAS competitions.
As mentioned in our initial announcement, this is a year of big changes for regional play. If you’ve tuned in to any of our events in 2025, some of it will look familiar - and some of it will be quite new indeed!
For starters: we’re taking the accessibility of last year’s PUBG Players Tour, and adding it to the structure and prestige of our existing regional series - the PUBG EMEA Championship and PUBG Americas Series, which will return from March 2 - featuring over 10 weeks of play in 2026.
In addition, all stages of this year’s regional series will feature five matches during each match day (one less compared to 2025’s BO6 format), but with more match days overall throughout the tournaments to compensate. We’re hoping this will keep things light and exciting, while still rewarding the most consistent players.
This new version of PEC & PAS represents an expanded and upgraded regional series; qualifiers (Scrims and Cups) will run for five weeks, and will be followed by two sets of Playoffs and Finals for a total of four bumper weekends of regional PUBG being played at the highest level!

PUBG EMEA CHAMPIONSHIP PUBG AMERICAS SERIES

Both the PUBG EMEA Championship (PEC) and the PUBG Americas Series (PAS) will be split into three main stages:
Scrims and Cups
Running for five weeks. At the end of five weeks, the best teams on the total overall Cups leaderboard will qualify to Playoffs (alongside the winners of the respective Cups of week 4 & 5)
Playoffs
3 days: brutal, fast-paced qualification format. Qualifying teams will be seeded according to their Cups performance, with the exception of the invited teams.
Finals
Classic 3-day format. After the first Finals weekend, we do it all over again with a second split of Playoffs and Finals!
The teams who perform the best in the Finals stage will secure invites to PGS events in the second half of the year. As always, the top performers will also earn PGC Points to secure their spots in the PUBG Global Championship 2026!
Scrims and Cups
Both PEC and PAS will kick off with five weeks of Scrims and Cups.
Each week kicks off with three days of scrims, which take the form of an elimination bracket. Scrims are all about survival - teams will be eliminated from scrims each day, almost like a weekly mini-tournament! At the end of the third day, only the top 16 teams will make it to the weekend Cup.
The Cup is played every Saturday, and takes the form of a rapid-fire one day BO5 event. Every frag and placement point counts. The top 19 teams across the total leaderboard after all five Cups will qualify to the Playoffs - in addition to the winners of Cup 4 and Cup 5.
In total, 19 teams will make it to the Playoffs from the weekly Cups. A better final position on the Cups leaderboard will give you more Playoffs match days, and more chances to qualify.
Playoffs
Playoffs will see the best teams from Scrims and Cups face off against some of the best invited teams from the region.
The Playoffs will run for three days of the course of a weekend.
Teams can qualify to the Finals from the Playoffs by being above the leaderboard cutoff on any one day.
If you don’t make it, all the scores are reset and you’ll continue to play the next day, with the teams who qualified on the previous day being replaced with whoever placed below them on the Cups leaderboard.
With each day, the tension rises as the cutoff becomes higher!
Teams are seeded to start their Playoffs journey on certain days based on their previous performance. For example, the team who ended 3rd on the Cups leaderboard would start their Playoffs journey on Day 1 (and would therefore have three chances to qualify, with three days of play ahead of them). By contrast, the team who finished 18th on the Cups leaderboard would still make it to the Playoffs, but would enter on Day 3 - giving them only one chance to qualify for the Finals.
Something that’s new for 2026 is that both the Playoffs and Finals will take place twice!
After the first set of Finals, we’ll do another round of Playoffs featuring the same teams as the first playoffs. Will the same faces make it to the second round of Finals? You’ll just have to tune in and find out!
Finals
If you’ve watched PUBG Esports before, you’ll be familiar with our Finals weekend format: 3 days of play, with the team who scores the most total points over all three days taking home the ultimate Chicken Dinner.
It’s all well and good to have one great weekend tournament run, but we want to reward teams who have the composure and skill to consistently perform at the top of their region.

In 2026, PEC and PAS will continue to have an important role in qualifying teams to global events.
The top-performing teams in PEC: Spring and PAS1 will be invited to all of the PGS events in the second half of 2026. In addition, regional tournaments will continue to be the main mechanism through which teams earn PGC Points, which will be used to qualify for the PUBG Global Championship 2026.
With two sets of Playoffs and Finals, there’s lots of opportunities to earn PGC Points. Qualifying to Finals through Playoffs will earn your team a small amount of points (based on how early you qualified), but you’ll need to also perform well in the Finals if you want to cement your spot at PGC. Here’s how the distribution will look like:

These values apply to both week 1 and week 2 of the Playoffs and Finals!
