It’s been an exciting two weekends of action in PEC: Spring so far - and the competition is only going to heat up further in the Grand Finals, taking place this weekend April 5 - 7!
In addition to fighting for a share of $50,000 and the first PGC Points of the year, EMEA’s best teams will compete for two places at PUBG Esports’ first global tournaments of the year - PGS 3 and PGS 4! Here’s the full list of teams competing at PEC: Spring:
In the Group Stage, BB Team came out on top with a fearsome showing of 149 points - giving them a 26 point breakaway between MadBulls in second place. MadBulls’ Group Stage run was simply phenomenal, and represented a triumphant return to form for the veteran squad of NIXZYEE, QWZYYY, Lukarux and ibiza.
The rest of the top spots from the Group Stage were secured by - for lack of a better word - exactly the teams you would expect to get the top spots (like Twisted Minds, Acend and NAVI). Joining them in the top 8 of the Group Stage was POD SAMOLET, LULW and Bumble Squad, all of whom also put on some strong performances - proving their abilities as some of the best teams from CIS and MEA.
For the remaining teams, the journey continued into the Last Chance stage. While some may have initially questioned FaZe Clan’s performance in the Group Stage, the roster absolutely came out swinging in the Last Chance Playoffs - putting any doubts to rest with a phenomenal string of games culminating in back-to-back Chicken Dinners on the last day of the Last Chance weekend. A true FaZe Sunday for the ages.
HOWL also made a dramatic comeback, driving away with second place in the Last Chance stage. It was abundantly clear that the squad still has the power, accuracy and aggression which led them to their Championship title win during last year’s edition of PEC: Spring.
Following close on their heels was winordie, BBL Esports, PERA Esports, Entropiq, and Orgless - all of whom put in solid shifts to earn tickets to the Grand Finals.
Of course, we could talk all day about how these teams have performed in the Group Stage and Last Chance - but from here on out, the only thing that matters is how well each team can place in the Grand Finals weekend. The top two (non-GPT) teams in the leaderboard will secure qualification to PGS 3 and PGS 4, where they will compete against not only the Global Partner Teams from EMEA (FaZe Clan, NAVI and Twisted Minds) but also the best PUBG Esports teams in the world!
In addition to this, the top placing teams will each get a share of PGC Points - which will be vitally important to any team who wants to qualify to the PUBG Global Championship at the end of the year. They will also split a share of the $50,000 prize pool - and the glory of being the best teams in EMEA!
To catch all of the action live, be sure to tune in to our Twitch and YouTube channels at 18:00 CEST on April 5 - 7!
See you on the Battlegrounds!
