It’s almost time for the PUBG Global Series 3! From May 20 - 26, the world’s best PUBG teams will face off across six match days in Shanghai, China. A share of the $300,000 prize pool and PGS Points (which teams can use to qualify to PGC 2024) are on the line!
Here are the participating teams:
Zooming in on the EMEA & Americas regions, here’s a closer look at the teams who’ll be representing the best of the West at PGS 3:
Natus Vincere
After signing their new roster of Feyerist, DIFX, Hakatory and SoseD at the beginning of the year, NAVI blew fans away with a very strong third place finish at PEC: Spring!
For now, all eyes will be on the squad to see if they can maintain their momentum into their PGS debut. While the team’s performance in the ever-competitive PEC was unquestionably strong, success on the global stage often requires an even more unshakeable resolve than the online regionals. We’ll be looking on with excitement to see if NAVI’s new squad can face up to the challenge!
Soniqs
The incumbent PGS 2 Champions are returning to the fray with enthusiasm to defend their title! It goes without saying that the team has a wealth of LAN experience, which may prove invaluable in their quest to add another notch to their championship belt.
Will the superstar squad of hwinn, Shrimzy, TGLTN and Kickstart rise to the occasion? Find out from next Monday!
Twisted Minds
The titans of EMEA - Twisted Minds - return to the global stage once more! They’re in the midst of a series of tournament runs that can truly only be described as dominant - having now won the last four major regional EMEA tournaments in a row (The Rotation, PGS 2 EMEA Qualifier, PEC: Fall 2023, PEC: Spring 2024).
Though the team has had countless podium finishes at global tournaments, they’ve never quite been able to clinch first place - but with the team running on a historic high, their chances are better than ever of finally securing that global tournament title!
Team Falcons
After the world-class squad of Fludd, M1ME, Relo and Snakers got picked up by Falcons earlier this year, the team has gone from strength to strength. The team enters PGS 3 hot off a fantastic first place finish at the PUBG Americas Series. No doubt they’ll be looking to keep up the momentum as the tournament kicks off!
FaZe Clan
The veteran squad of Gustav, Fexx, Jeemzz and curexi return to the battlegrounds with a wealth of experience behind them. While they didn’t quite make it to the top spots in last year’s PGS 1 and 2, the team has really dug in since then - and their hard work seems to be paying dividends, with top results in PGC 2023 and PEC: Spring.
TSM
TSM are coming back to the fray for PGS 3 with a phenomenal pan-Americas squad of aLOW, luke12, PurdyKurty and sparkingg!
This is a squad who are certainly no strangers to the global stage, with the core of the team having competed in the first PUBG Global Series last year. Since then (and particularly, with the addition of sparkingg), the team has gone from strength to strength, ending the PUBG Americas series in a rip-roaring second place.
Virtus.pro
Virtus pro’s new squad of ibiza, NIXZYEE, Lukarux and Qwizzy made a splash with a phenomenal and unprecedented tournament run in PEC: Spring, almost taking the Championship title from Twisted Minds (who, in the typically dramatic PEC style, managed to win by just one single point).
According to Twisted Minds’ BatulinS, it seems the Virtus.pro squad has been grinding unfathomable amounts of PUBG in scrims and practice - and it really showed in their exceptional performance at PEC.
Furthermore, ibiza and Lukarux bring a wealth of LAN tournament experience to the team - perhaps their blend of veteran experience and up and coming talent will net them a PGS title?
Legacy
Legacy’s all-Brazilian powerhouses (guizeraa, lfp1, vhz, rbN) have a wealth of experience at global LANs, with the core of the team taking part in both PNC 2023 and PGC 2023!
Although their final result in PGC may have left something to be desired, the team has undoubtedly become a mainstay top contender in PUBG Americas Series since the regional tournament’s inception, topping it off with a recent third place finish in the PUBG Americas Series.
