Seven Things You Should Know About EMEA for PGS 1
2023-04-25

With PGS 1 right around the corner, it’s time to meet the teams from EMEA who’ll be representing their region on the world stage! Here’s seven things you need to know about them:

EMEA is STACKED (again) 💪

This year is shaping up to be one of the most competitive yet in EMEA. The two teams who qualified to PGS 1 from EMEA’s first regional series – HOWL and Acend – finished PEC: Spring with the same amount of points. The fact that the winner was decided on a tie-breaker (with third place following only two points behind) just goes to show how competitive the region is as a whole. 💪

HOWL will make their global debut 🐺

PGS 1 will be HOWL’s first global tournament! The squad had a meteoric rise to success in EMEA this year after following up their second place finish in Protality Season 6 with a nail-bitingly close first place finish at PEC: Spring. For PGS 1, their coach Apocalyp will be temporarily standing in for LAHZA. Will they be able to continue building momentum with a big win against established veteran teams on the global stage? Find out from April 27th! 🐺

The World Champions are returning 🏆

Natus Vincere arrive at PGS 1 hot off their heels of the runaway victory in the PUBG Global Championship 2022! As the year’s first global event, PGS 1 will give us the first indication of whether NAVI will be able to hold on to the World Champions title ahead of this year’s Global Championship 🏆

The veterans return 🔥

FaZe Clan will return to the fray once again during PGS 1! The squad of Gustav, curexi, Fexx and Jeemzz have a combined total of 18 years worth of competitive PUBG experience behind them, so they’re no strangers to the global stage. Following a 9th place finish at last year’s PGC, they’ve started to pick up the pace this year with a 5th place finish in PEC: Spring and a 2nd place finish in Avnqr’s Atlantic Showdown. Will FaZe keep their foot on the gas for PGS 1? Find out from April 27th 🔥

Acend rises to their first global tournament 🚀

Even though PGS 1 will be the first global showing for Acend, their roster of Braexco, Myca, KILYAKAi and ItzzChrizZ are no strangers to the global stage - having played together in different teams since 2020. Their dominant performance at PEC: Spring stunned audiences and secured them a second place finish - will Acend rise to the occasion at PGS? 🚀

Twisted Minds will return with some big brain strats 🧠

True to the big brain featured in their logo, Twisted Minds are known for being one of EMEA’s most calculated and consistent teams – as demonstrated by their phenomenal third place finish in last year’s PGC. While they ended up towards the middle of the field in PEC: Spring, their experience of playing on the global stage should be more than enough to propel them to a top spot at PGS 1 – if they can find the most lethal strategies 🧠
