PCS4 Week 3 Recap - Standings and PEPS+
2021-07-01

The 4th installment of the PUBG Continental Series has come to a close with a slew of returning and new Champion teams taking the PCS4 Crown! Each week the team with the most Chicken Dinners would walk away with a $20,000 prize - adding to their total Prize Rank!

By the end of PCS4, whichever team secured the biggest prize pool would be the deemed PCS4 Champion in their region - picking up an extra $20,000 as the PCS4 Winning team. The cash is nice, but PGC Points were also up for grabs. Each team that took home the crown scored 450 HUGE points to get them to the PUBG Global Championship later in 2021.

How did your favorite team fare? Were you able to score big in the Pick’Em Challenge?! The Pick’Em Challenge Reward period is now open until 11 am KST on July 14th, 2021. Get out there and rock those cool skins!

PCS4 Week 3

There’s plenty that happened in PCS4 Week 3. Here we’ll focus on each region’s PCS4 Week 3 results - including which teams scored the Week 3 Weekly Winner cash prize, the final Prize Rank, a few match day highlights, and the Week 3 PEPS+ report!

APAC

At the end of PCS4 APAC Week 3, FURY and Buriram United Esports continued their trade-offs for first place positioning! Each team had seen a PCS4 Weekly win, but in PCS4 APAC Week 3, BN United was the team who played the format right! BN United’s Week 3 win netted $20,000 - shooting them through the rankings and dismantling FURY and Buriram United Esports’ efforts to score more cash. An intense showing resulted in Buriram United Esports holding the most cash by a narrow $2,000 margin, barely rivaling FURY’s consistent performance.

PCS4 APAC Week 3 started off with a bang! FURY claimed one WWCD ahead of Buriram United Esports in their team-vs-team Match 3, and would end PCS4 APAC Week 3 Day 1 with 2 Chicken Dinners on the board! BN United was at the back of the Chicken Dinner pack with 1 win and 11 kills, following ArkAngel Predator and Victim Rise.

Heading into PCS4 APAC’s final day, Buriram United Esports must’ve felt the pressure - no WWCD and 20 kills. The lobby targeted our forerunners! FURY and Buriram United Esports saw the Top 4 in the final 6 matches only ONCE on the final day. Buriram United Esports converted that one opportunity into a HUGE Chicken Dinner win while Daytrade Gaming, BN United, Sharper Esport, and Eagle365 Esports TWICE picked up the remaining dinners!

Americas

What else can we say about the PCS4 Americas lobby that hasn’t already been said.. Dodge, Dignitas, Oath, Trogloditas - so many great teams put their all into PCS4, but the Soniqs continued to put their money where their mouth is with a back-to-back-to-back PCS4 Americas weekly win. Coming into PCS4 Americas Week 3, it was clear Soniqs were leading the pack but who knew they would squeeze out another $20,000 into their prize pool.

The Soniqs and Dodge show kicked off PCS4 Americas Week 3. An incredible Chicken Dinner back and forth resulted in 3 WWCDs for Dodge, 2 WWCDs for the Soniqs, and 1 WWCD for TSM FTX on Day 1. Dodge was leading the pack.

The first match of PCS4 Americas Grand Final Week 3 Day 2 - Soniqs challenged Dodge with a Chicken Dinner tie before Enrage Esports slid in for a WWCD in Match 2. Another trade of Chicken Dinners between Dodge and Soniqs, after a Guadalajara Gascans win in between, put Soniqs back at the top of the leaderboard. TSM FTX does what TSM FTX did best in PCS4 Americas - score the final win of the day!

Asia

Unlike PCS4 Americas and PCS4 APAC lobbies, the PCS4 Asia region took all 12 final matches to decide it’s fate. Korea teams came out strong - GPS GHIBLI showing up as they have in previous weeks with strong consistency, but unable to match the power in Petrichor Road in the end! GPS GHIBLI’s week 3 performance allowed them to skip into second place on the Prize Rank and break up the Chinese lead!

The leaderboard was split at the end of PCS4 Asia Week 3 Day 1 with GPS GHIBLI leading a 6-WWCD lobby ahead of 17Gaming, Petrichor Road, Games Forever Young, MaD Clan, and T1!

Teams were out to challenge the leaders of the pack on the PCS4 Asia final day. In 6 matches, Gen.G scored their first WWCD of the series, and 17Gaming and MaD Clan picked up their second Chicken Dinners to attempt to shut out Petrichor Road! On Match 10 of 12 for Week 3, Petrichor Road cleaned MaD Clan for their 2nd WWCD of the week, pulling into the top of the leaderboards. By the final match, 17Gaming, MaD Clan, and Petrichor Road held 2 WWCDs each and only a 12-kill count difference between the three teams! Danawa E-sports pulled ahead for the final win of PCS4 Asia but in the end. The lobby bowed to 17Gaming’s PCS4 Asia Week 3 win, but couldn't stop Petrichor Road from taking home the PCS4 Asia Championship!

Europe

The final 12 matches in the PCS4 Europe Grand Final would end up sending Team Liquid from 9th place to 2nd place in the Prize Ranking with their impressive PCS4 Europe Week 3 win! Similarly, Redline (an open qualifiers team by the way) would jump from 5th in Week 2 to 3rd behind Virtus.Pro and Team Liquid on the final Prize Rank!

At the end of Week 3 Day 1 in PCS4 Europe Grand Final, Team Liquid had a strong lead - the only team with 2 WWCDs followed by Virtus.pro, NAVI, Redline, and Bigbosslayf. NAVI played a consistent play with Ayla and xmpl putting down insane damage, but continued to get wiped in the end game as Skade, FIVE, Redline, and Virtus.pro scored wins. Skade would pick up their second Chicken Dinner of the day ahead of ENCE’s first WWCD in Week 3!

No matter how consistent teams played, there was always someone else waiting to take them down leaving for nail-biter finishes to virtually all matches in Week 3. Team Liquid’s PCS4 Europe Week 3 win was a game-changer, but in the end Virtus.pro pulled off the back-to-back Championship under their new flag!

PCS4 Week 3 PEPS+

PEPS+ highlights players and teams in the lobby post-event, ranking players against each other in battle typing and statistics. It’s the PUBG devs way of sharing playstyles, patterns, and more with the PUBG Esports fans!

Let’s take a look at the players who ran the PCS4 Week 3 lobby, as well as those who led their teams to the Week 3 Weekly Winner prize!

PEPS+ APAC Week 3 Weekly Winner Standout Player - YoungBii

BN United came to show off their mastery of the format in PCS4 APAC Week 3. Although their best PEPS+ performing team member, YoungBii came in at #28 on the PEPS+ - it’s a testament to their dedication to survival that BN United was able to score the PCS4 APAC Week 3 Weekly Winners prize! Let’s see how this player progresses over their PUBG Esports career!

PCS4 APAC Week 3 - Top Overall Player - Nourinz

Daytrade Gaming and Nourinz have shocked and wowed the audience since before PGI.S, but Nourinz in PCS4 APAC Week 3 was a different animal. Survival, Fire Power, Team Play and Potential are at a 98 - rivaling strong stats in other categories. Nourinz played Week 3 wholly offensively, meeting competitors in the center circle, taking picks usually from afar.

PEPS+ Americas Week 3 Weekly Winner Standout and Top Overall Player - Shrimzy

In PCS4 Americas Week 3, we see a new face take the stage and steal the limelight from another Soniqs player, TGLTN. Shrimzy threw down in the Battlegrounds during Week 3 - fragging out for an impressive 100 in Finishing, Tactics, Teamplay, and Potential - rivaling the whole lobby. With an 84 survival rating, Shrimzy stayed in the game - getting more placement points than kill points this week. You could assume Shrimzy has significant survival and staying power in the final PCS4 Americas week where they needed it most!

PEPS+ Asia Week 3 Weekly Winner Standout and Top Overall Player - Xbei

A near-perfect score on the offensive is 17Gaming’s xbei who undoubtedly helped 17Gaming achieve the PCS4 Asia Week 3 Weekly Winner prize by outperforming the entire lobby. Holding it down center, close to teams, and capitalizing on almost 66% on kill points, xbei showed that he is NOT messing around! His teammates can thank him for scoring some sweet cash before the PCS4 Asia end.

PEPS+ Europe Week 3 Weekly Winner Standout Player - Clib

Team Liquid has always been a standout in European PUBG Esports and its no surprise to see Clib help carry the team to the finish in PCS4 Europe Week 3. Clib’s efforts alongside the team allowed them to jump multiple placements in the Prize Ranking and avoid going home with little cash after PCS4 Europe. Clib helped his team get to the end game and in PCS4, the end game is where the magic happens!

PCS4 Europe Grand Final Week 3 - Top Overall Player - xmpl

NAVI’s xmpl is officially the first back-to-back-to-back performed in PCS4! Three weeks in a row, xmpl has topped the PEPS+ charts. Covering his team’s back at all costs, xmpl fragged out - excelling in both placement and kill points in Week 3. With Combatability, Tactics, and Survival at 100 - is xmpl the player to absolutely master the formula for scoring the Chicken Dinner win?
