PCS5 Week 3

With a fresh set of leaderboards heading into the final 12 matches in each region, 16 teams in APAC, Americas, Asia, and Europe dropped onto Erangel and Miramar for a final chance to score a BIG $29,000 prize earning to add onto their PCS5 Prize Ranking.

In each region except APAC, the Week 3 Winning team would end up becoming their region’s next PCS5 Champion!

Let’s take a look at the final Prize Rank, Special Prizes, PEPS+, and PGC per region!

PCS5 Week 3 APAC

What an INSANE way to resolve PCS5 APAC! The week started with Bao Nam United winning Match 1, but quickly became a nailbiter week as 10 teams stacked a Chicken Dinner before Match 11! Bao Nam United was the FIRST team in 12 matches to celebrated 2 WWCDs on the penultimate match of Week 3.

In unprecedented match moments, ArkAngel Predator returned BN United by scoring their second Chicken Dinner of the weekend! With that win, ArkAngel Predator secured enough kills to narrowly take the $29,000 from Bao Nam United and own the PCS5 APAC Week 3 Weekly Win!

With the Week 3 placements locked, Bao Nam United and ArkAngel Predator stood tied for $41,000 earned, but BN United was the only team in the Top 3 to have earned cash each week of PCS5 APAC. A winless week for Phoenix Da Nang meant their PCS5 APAC Championship hopes were torn apart!

PCS5 Week 3 Americas

Oath has dismantled the back-to-back previous Champion team Soniqs in an AMAZING PCS5 Americas Grand Final performance.

In Week 3, Oath picked up two clutch Chicken Dinners on Day 2. On the final day, Oath went from 7th to 1st - enough to grab them the $29,000 cash and overtake the Soniqs on Prize Ranking - effectively securing PGC and disturbing the other seats ready to go to Global Competition.

For the Top 3 teams in this region, only a few kills separated their victories. Each team held 2 Chicken Dinners, but for kills: Oath - 77, Dignitas - 75, and Soniqs - 73! Mind blown.

PCS5 Week 3 Europe

What easily may be considered the most climactic 12 matches in PCS5 regional finals resulted in Virtus.pro securing a 3x PCS Championship with their current roster. Remember NorthernLights Team? Yeah - that’s Virtus.pro today!

FaZe Clan truly stepped up for Week 3 - almost having the Internet scream “FaZe Sunday” for PUBG Esports! Natus Vincere may have dropped a few placements compared to Week 2, but the squad is raring to get to PGC 2021.

In the PCS5 Europe Grand Finals, 6 teams held Chicken Dinners at the end of Day 1 - similarly to Asia showing that the level of competition is at an all-time high! It was INSANE. It took until Match 10 for a team to score 2 Chicken Dinners - FaZe Clan was pulling ahead! In Match 11, Question Mark earned their second win, but in Match 12 - from the midpack came Virtus.pro - to defy expectations on the final round Chicken Dinner! In the end, VP was ONE kill point ahead of Question Mark.

PCS5 Week 3 PEPS+

PEPS+ highlights players and teams in the lobby post-event, ranking players against each other in battle typing and statistics. It’s the PUBG devs way of sharing playstyles, patterns, and more with the PUBG Esports fans!

Most of our standouts below are headed to PGC - keep your eye out!

PEPS+ APAC

PCS5 APAC Week 3 - Weekly Winner Team Average

ArkAngel Predator figured out the strategy in PCS5 APAC Week 3 - playing a heavy survival game to get the Week 3 win - the only team to win the final Weekly Win without claiming the PCS5 Champion title!

Playing the outside and looking in, AAP was in sync on tight rotations to secure placement points throughout the week. Even though they didn’t secure cash each week, it was enough to tie for first place with Bao Nam United!

PCS5 APAC - Top Overall Player

Fludd is back to back as the Top Overall player in PCS5 APAC! The lad is fragging and leaving behind HUGE plays to build a strong highlight reel. Boasting huge stats compared to the lobby, Fludd is taking angles but managing to survive on the team. FURY fans - be proud!

PEPS+ Americas

Oath has done it! Taking the PCS Championship title away from Soniqs was no easy task, but the squad absolutely dominated - showcasing a new side of play that the fans have been eager to see!

The PEPS+ stats boast a balanced and in-sync squad. Average is an understatement as they consecutively placed at the top of the leaderboards in PCS5 Americas showing that survival and proactive engagements go a long way.

PCS5 Americas Grand Final - Top Overall Player

Kickstart deserves and earns another player PEPS+ spotlight after fragging out in PCS5 Americas.

PEPS+ Asia

Petrichor Road held their ground with multiple PCS5 Weekly wins and of course the title Championship back under their domain. Again - staying central on the circle is key - but PeRo continues to dominate the offensive! Firepower is their driver and survival happens when they need it most - a unique way to play in the Asia region!

PCS5 Asia - Top Overall Player

Where did NewHappy ZpYan1 come from?! According to the PEPS+ ZpYan1 absolutely dominated in Firepower, Finishing, Survival, Tactics, and Teamplay. NewHappy brought plenty to the table in PCS5 and it would have been great to see the whole team rise to ZpYan1’s calibur! Definitely keep an eye out for the squad in PGC 2021.

PEPS+ Europe

Virtus.pro has proved their skill set in PCS5 with an amazing Week 3 and overall Championship win. The PCS5 Europe lobby must be shaking in their boots for the amount of talent in this squad who tend to play center and close, balanced on a short or long play, early or late drop, and Miramar or Erangel success.

PCS5 Europe Grand Final - Top Overall Player

BBL Esports Smash is no stranger to the fragging role! Smash continues to hype the lobby with amazing plays and final blows - having stolen the show while on Digital Athletics in PCS3. The roster may be on a new team, but they continue to support Smash’s incessant ability to frag out.

PCS5 is wrapped and PGC 2021 is on the horizon! Stay tuned for more:
