With the conclusion of the Group Stage, Elimination Stage and Last Chance Stage, it’s been an explosive two weeks of PCS7 Europe Playoffs! Congratulations to the 16 teams who’ve qualified for the upcoming PCS7 Europe Grand Finals, taking place from September 30 to October 2 and October 7 to 9.
Who’s Qualified:
Group Stage
The competition was stiff in Group A, with the top 4 teams all scoring extremely high. Ex-Team Liquid squad OVERPEEKERS proved their pedigree by putting on a dominant performance - topping the Group A standings with a combined 130 points and 22 kills more than NAVI, who took second place. With 104 points, NAVI put on a phenomenal performance in their own right – which only serves to further highlight just how strong OVERPEEKERS are looking right now. Although Acend Club only just qualified in 4th place – hot on the heels of Austrian Force in 3rd – they should be proud of their result as it shows how much the team has committed to consistently improving their play over the past few months.
In Group B, Northern Lights found a commanding win with ENCE close behind in second place. Northern Lights’ phenomenal run was made possible by Lu and Perfect1ks, both of whom far surpassed the damage dealt by any of the other competitors in Group A and B. For many though, the big story in Group B was The Woo just qualifying by the skin of their teeth with a hard-fought 4th place. The Woo’s performance demonstrates that the veteran squad of ibiza, Besto and Qwizzy still has what it takes to compete with the very best of EMEA while also fostering younger talent in the form of Nixyzee.
Elimination Stage
With the scoreboards reset, the 24 remaining teams went head to head with six more places at the Grand Finals on the line. winordie caused a few surprises on Day 1, quickly opening up a 27-point lead over FaZe Clan in second place. Both teams would hold onto places in the Top 6 and qualify for the Grand finals along with HOWL, FUT Esports, Fella’s, and PolishPower.
Last Chance Stage
Heading into the final day of the PCS7 Playoffs, all eyes were on some of the well-known teams in danger of missing out on a place at the main event, including BBL Esports, HEROIC, and PCS6-winners Entropiq. But it was Team Exalt and Stardust who stepped up across six matches to secure the final two spots in the PCS7 Europe Grand Final.
Grand Finals
The PCS7 Europe Grand Finals (Sep. 30- Oct. 2 & Oct. 7- 9) will be the culmination of months of hard work and practice for the teams competing, and for good reason – the team who wins the PCS7 Europe Grand Finals will automatically qualify for the upcoming PUBG Global Championship (PGC) in Dubai. Placing well in PCS7 will also reward teams with PGC points, which they can use to qualify for the PGC.
So, be sure to tune in to PUBG Esports to see who’ll take home the PCS7 Europe chicken dinner!
